‘Taking Control: Healthy Strategies for Living with Depression audio book

‘Taking Control’ is a 6-CD audio book that takes a holistic approach to
depression to help people start their journey toward recovery. ‘Taking Control’ was written by people affected by depression for people affected by depression. It is a comprehensive self-help book that deals with the causes and symptoms of depression, formal and alternative treatments, and a full range of self-help techniques. ‘Taking Control’ is about people making a conscious decision to change their lives through the development of a personalised self-help programme.  (Order or download a copy here)

Journeys Toward Calm’ relaxation CD

Learning to relax is a key skill for people affected by depression. But like any skill, it has to be learned. In Journeys Toward Calm, award winning actor/playwright Philip Ralph talks you through some relaxation and breathing techniques before guiding you through a series of relaxations using visualisation and body scan relaxation techniques.  (Order or download a copy here)

Healthy Minds CD-Rom

The Healthy Minds CD-Rom is aimed at people affected by depression but is a useful resource for families and friends, health workers and anyone who wants to promote and protect their mental health.

It is an interactive multimedia resource that provides a comprehensive yet easy to access exploration of mental health, depression and self-help. It is packed full of practical resources, personal stories, tips and exercises that can help people find their own route to recovery.

‘Healthy Minds’ was developed by people with a personal experience of depression who wanted to use their experiences to help others.
