Journeys receives limited funding, so we spend too much of our time raising the funds we need just to be here. We’d rather our time was spent directly helping people affected by depression.

If Journeys could raise just £1 a year for every person affected by depression, we could:

  • Make Depression Busting courses available and accessible throughout the UK
  • Provide a place in a group-based self-help programme for anyone who wants to attend
  • Offer a comprehensive information service
  • Radically change public attitudes to depression
  • Help create mentally healthy workplaces and communities

That’s why we need your help. Every single donation no matter how small helps us to make a real difference to people’s lives. It means that we can provide information and support to people when they need it most; ensures that our projects, services and self-help groups can continue and enables us to act as a voice for people affected by depression.

There are a number of ways that you can make a donation. Regular donations are particularly beneficial because they mean we can plan for the future.

Make a regular donation

As with most charities, Journeys would able to operate more effectively if we new we had regular donations coming in every month.  So, for example, if you were thinking of making a donation of £12, it would be more helpful to us for you to make a recurring payment of £1 per month than simply making a one-off payment.

You can make a regular donation online, or you can take out a standing order by completing our donations form and post it to us.

Gift Aid your donation

Using Gift Aid means that you can increase the value of your donation by almost a third. For every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, at no extra cost to you. This means that £100 can be turned into £128. Imagine what a difference that could make.  Also, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also claim 25p back on every £1 you donate when you fill in your self-assessment form.

To be able to Gift Aid your donation you need to be a UK taxpayer and what you pay in tax must be at least equal to the 28% of your donation we will claim.

We will also need you to make a Gift Aid declaration. You can make it in writing, by email, over the telephone or online. You can agree to Gift Aid all your future donations and/or membership fees, and it can be backdated to April 2000.
