Depression Busting

Depression Busting is an 8 week self-management training course offering self-help tools and strategies.  It has been developed by a team of people who come from a range of professional backgrounds including teaching, psychology, counselling, CBT and bodywork, all of whom have a lived experience of depression.

Depression Busting explores many aspects of depression and its symptoms including diet, activity, sleep, self-medication, and thoughts and beliefs; as well as helpful skills such as self-monitoring, action planning, relaxation and body awareness. 

The course is currently being assessed for accreditation.

Dealing with depression and developing a mentally healthy workplace

Journeys has developed a one-day course specifically for employers so that they can understand, recognise and deal with depression as well as developing a strategy for a mentally healthy workplace.

The course is currently being verified for accreditation.

Understanding Depression and Mental Health

This one-day course is aimed at community groups and organisations.

The focus of the course is to enable participants to understand the symptoms and causes of depression, as well as how mental and emotional wellbeing can be promoted.  The course explores the self-management of depression and positive and practical solutions to mental health problems.

The course is currently being assessed for accreditation.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

This is a modular course for anyone interested in taking care of their mental and emotional health.

It begins with a look at the causes of depression and moves on to an explanation of mental well-being.  It then considers issues such as food and mood, talking therapies, physical activity and sleep.  The sessions are led by tutors with a lived experience of depression as well as experts in the field, for example, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Dieticians, etc.
