New group for university students
Depression is a serious issue for students, many of whom are away from home and the support networks thay grew up with at a time of great change and considerable stress. A recent article in Gair Rhydd reveals than half of the students visiting counsellors at the Cardiff University Student Services have depression.
The importance of encouraging students to talk about depression, and to learn about self-help cannot be overstated. That is why Journeys supporter, Britt Hallingberg, will be launching a new self-help group for students at Cardiff University this month.
The first meeting of the new group will be on Tuesday 16th February from 6.00-8.00pm in the Gareth Edwards Room, 4th Floor of the Students Union building.
