Youth Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course that helps people recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems; to engage with people suffering from mental health problems and to support and signpost them to professional help.
It allows individuals to gain awareness and new skills, and helps organisations to improve mental health in the workplace.
MHFA is an award-winning course, originally developed in Australia, which has been adapted to meet the needs of people living in Wales.
Journeys runs a programme of MHFA courses, and last month ran a course in the Cynon Valley, specifically aimed at people who are involved in Youth Mental Health Services.
The feedback has been extremely positive.
