Mental Health First Aid (7th & 8th March 2012)

"One of our staff members attended a course with you recently which she found was really helpful – and hasn’t stopped enthusing about it!" (Learning Quality Officer – Cardiff).

"I now feel confident that I can deal with mental distress whereas I didn't feel that I would know what to do before" (Mental Health First Aid course participant).

If someone were experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health problem, would you know what to do?

MHFA is similar to Emergency First Aid – in both cases members of the general public can offer immediate aid and support a person to get the help that they need.

MHFA saves and improves lives. Just as with accidents and medical emergencies, responding quickly and appropriately to a person developing mental health problems or in crisis often prevents the situation from worsening and determines how quickly they get help and/or recover.

"Excellent training course which greatly increased my knowledge of mental health issues – I just wish I had attended this training a few years ago" (Mental Health First Aid course participant).

Lunch will be provided.  Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a copy of the MHFA manual.
